Default 12 Days of Giveaways: PEEKABOO BEANS

I first discovered Peekaboo Beans a few months ago at my son’s school fun fair. I instantly fell in love with the bright colours, high-quality fabrics and stylish designs. Since then, I have been coveting every item in the Peekaboo Beans catalogue. So I was very excited to have the opportunity to review a couple items for our 12 Days of Giveaways event. I received a long-sleeved dress and matching leggings. My daughter couldn’t wait to try on her new Peekaboo Beans outfit when it arrived. She loved the ruffles on the dress and the thumb holes and she felt very comfortable in these clothes. I loved the attention to detail, the softness, thickness and stretch of the fabric, and the versatility of the pieces. I was also impressed by the ease with which my daughter was able to get herself dressed.

Peekaboo Beans is like Lululemon for kids. These clothes are designed for comfort and play while still being very stylish. The styles are simple, but the little details they add - like a ruffle or a patch - are what set them apart from other kids’ clothing brands and make them so fashionable and cute. They are also very versatile. Their dresses will make perfect tunics and longer tops as the child grows, and the leggings work well as full-length, capris or even shorts. The colours are coordinated across the entire line for each season, so you can easily mix and match to create many different outfits with just a few pieces.

The fabric of Peekaboo Beans clothing is wonderful. I am very particular about fabrics, and I was very pleased with the cotton-spandex blend fabric used in these clothes. Not only are they soft, but they are also the perfect thickness. You can tell Peekaboo Beans clothing will last for a very long time and withstand a lot of wear and tear. The stretchiness of the fabric is nice, too. Peekaboo Beans does not use buttons or zippers (except for hoodies and jackets), so this bit of stretch helps kids get dressed independently without any frustrations. It also allows them to move freely and comfortably, and means that they will get a lot more use out of these clothes as they grow.
Unlike a lot of children’s clothing brands, it’s not just the girls’ clothes that are stylish - the boys’ lines are too. The colours are fun and bright, and the designs work great for little boys as well as big boys. The Top-Notch Coat and the hooded Aviation Tee in red are my two favourite items from this season’s collection.

Peekaboo Beans offers infant and kids’ collections for boys and girls up to size 8, as well as the new CiCi Bean line for tween girls from 8 to 14. Peekaboo Beans is available in a few retail locations in Canada, but locally they can be ordered through play stylists like Kirsten King. You can learn more about Peekaboo Beans and browse the catalogues at www.facebook.com/peekabookirstenk.

To help dress your kids in style this holiday season, we have a $50 gift certificate to use toward your Fall 2012 Peekaboo Beans purchase through Kirsten. Contest closes at MIDNIGHT on December 5th. Please see the review on the homepage to enter
