I’m looking to start a homerun preschool co-op with other local parents. I’m thinking around 8 children would be ideal, from ages 2-5. As a parent, about once a month you would be responsible for running a simple program with the kids – lots of free play, stories, songs, a simple craft. I’m thinking once or twice a week, but we can talk. I’d like parents to be able to work in pairs, so kids are supervised by two adults. The rest of the month, you’d be off! When you are leading the group, I also don’t see an issue with younger/older siblings hanging around or participating, as long as they aren’t too distracting.
There would also be a need to plan things with the other parents once a month or so. This would give us a chance to have a quiet cup of tea without kids and share ideas and concerns.
I’m mainly interested in giving my son a chance to play with other kids in an informal setting, while giving myself a bit of break also!
Please contact me if you’re interested and we’ll see what we can get started.
