Play Based Learning

What are people's thoughts on this?

I read an interesting article today: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/kindergarten/eq-over-iq-how-play-based-learning-can-lead-to-more-successful-kids/article2059603/
that was very pro.

Does anyone have any children who are in all day kindergarten that can share thoughts on how it's been and if this technique is utilized.

I myself like the concept, but don't know too much about it (other than what would seem obvious in regards to the title).

I like the concept, I dislike our culture of pushing kids into everything farther, faster and harder.

'play based learning' is pretty much what we've always done with ds. (i never heard the term until very recently though)

i liked the article! it would be great to have play based learning in schools like the article described! i think it's a sin to push academics so early (one reason ds is homeschooled actually)
